National Scrapbook Day Details

Many of you have asked what will be going on at The Scrapbook Junkie for "National Scrapbook Day." Let me just say that it won't be DAY, it will be WEEKEND!

For all customers:
* The first 25 customers, each day, will receive an Imaginise stamp for free.
* Every 7th receipt will receive a door prize.
* We will have drawings for a $100, & two - $50 gift certificates. Your name will go into these drawings for each $25.00 you spend, (including clearance items.) I like it better this way, because YOU choose what YOU want. Drawings to be held first thing on Sunday when the store opens.
AND...
*As you walk through the door you will draw from a junk pail full of 40% coupons for a featured vendor discount. For instance, 1 Heidi Swapp item of your choice @ 40% off.
(No stamps on gift certificate give away, 40% item special or clearance items.)

We will also have a "WEEKEND CROP." If you've ever been to our "Scrapbook Junkie Alternative" which we have on the same weekend as CKU, or our "Lock In" then you know that we've had a blast and get a whole bunch of goodies. Let me tell you a little bit about it, for those of you who haven't heard about these functions.

* Crop hours: Friday, May 2nd, 10:00 am - 2:00 am & Saturday, May 3rd, 10:00 am - 2:00 am. Wow! 28 hours of crop time!
* Dinner on Friday night and both lunch & dinner on Saturday. (fajitas, to name one - yummm.) No need to get up during the day for anything! Also, sweets & salts, and plenty to drink. Even Starbucks coffee will be brewed! We are here to serve you!

But wait! That's not all! (Mike and I always say this during infomercials.)

* Gift certificate giveaways
* Door prizes
* Games
* Mini Classes
* Challenges
* Cool gifts at your seat waiting for you... even a personal one!

But wait! (Haha.) Not all secrets will be revealed until then... You will be well pleased.

The cost for this event will be $85.00. Sign-Ups begin on Monday, March 31st @ 10:00 am. Trust us, you won't be sorry! Ask anyone who has attended either one of these before!

Just one more thing: If you are signed up for our emails and are not getting them, then send us an email @ beth@thescrapbookjunkie.net. Supposedly, sbcglobal sees it as spam until you accept it??? Many customers have told me that they do find them in their bulk mail. And also the houston.rr's come back to us. Please inform us of any changes.

I'll send out other announcements later, due to this one being soooo long!

As Promised...

Did you have a wonderful Easter? We went to Lake Charles to be with my family, and had a great time. Went to church, relaxed, ate candy, ate lunch, ate candy, then relaxed more. The clock moves even faster when I am with them. I wish I could have stayed there and been pampered for about a week. It was a joy to see my big brother and to meet his girlfriend. They are precious together.

I finished the "Acrylic Album" class that we have coming up this Sunday, April 30th. Here are a couple of pictures of it. It was so much fun. The first one I made "kicked my butt!" The second time around was much easier. Before you know it, you can be slapping these albums together in no time. The class is from 2:00-4:00 and the cost is $32.00. You will need your paper trimmer, scissors, tape runner, glue dots, pop dots, white uniball signo pen & a black cat eye ink pad. Call the store to sign up!

Happy Easter!

Wanted to send out a little reminder that our store hours for this weekend are a bit different.
Today, Sat., we are closing @ 3:00 due to family travels. Takes a while to get to Louisiana! Ha..
And for Easter Sunday we are closed. I am sure you all figured that.
Stayed late again at the store last night checking in the new Heidi Grace paper and embellishments. It's not found it's home yet, but it's all ready on the back tables for you to touch, feel & take some home! If you are a fan of hers, you will just die! It is gorgeous. How do they all keep getting better and better?
The Glitz Girls "Acrylic Album" class is completely sold out, with only a few spots left for their "3-page layout class." We're gonna light up Houston with Glitz!
I always feel like I am forgetting something. But, I'm so glad about the blog thing, because I could post as many times as I need to and not have to send out emails from the store. I get so worried that I send too many. I appreciate that you take time to get your updates here.
Have a safe & Happy Easter!!
He is Risen!!

Promised...

Just a couple of pictures from LA, as promised..
In the cockpit.. Flying High!

The gorgeous palm trees in Beverly Hills..

The kids, just loving on each other! Their smiles are contagious!

We won tickets for the kids to sit on the front row of the Broadway Musical, "Wicked." (It's just my 5th time to see it!) It's an incredible show that's a must see. It's the story of the witches before Oz, when they were best friends. Puts a whole new twist on the "Wizard of Oz."

I could put loads more, but will spare you!
Class photos will be on their way to the blog... Back to reality...

Another Surprise...

I told you that Fedex was coming! They dropped off NEW Heidi Swapp, Tim Holtz, AMM, Making Memories and Provo.... Boxes are being opened!! Come check it!!! YEAH!!! What a way to come home!

My Goodness!

Back at the store! WOW! I can't get over the new junk that came in while I was away. I mentioned it all on the last post, but to come back and see it so nicely merchandised, just thrills my heart. I've already asked, how soon I could go on vacation again! Next month was the reply! Ha... That's not too long away!
Guess what just rolled in the door? Not yet in computer, that's how excited I am to tell you... Fancy Pants!!! And new Page Frame Designs! All kinds of acrylic products!!! You must come and take a look at it all... that's just UPS for the day... Fedex to come later!!!
How much fun!
I'm a little "out of it" today.. with the trip to CA. The weather flying in yesterday was a little shaky, and with the time difference, I crashed for 15 hours last night.
Hope you are all enjoying spring day! It's almost Easter!!!!

Which first?

What should I say first, new products or vacation? You probably want to know about the products! I've called the store pretty regularly to find out what is coming in.. I'm sure they would like me to just take vacation! hahah... so, here goes: Maya Road, more Scenic Route, Sassafras, Creative Impressions, Reminise, theQUEEN & Co, American Crafts and a few others. Go in and enjoy!
Ok, vacation... the other night on Hollywood Blvd., I saw Angela Bassett and Vanessa Williams going into the "Arclight" theatre for the premier of "Meet the Browns." I stood across the street in amazement. The family wanted to leave and I wished that I was one of the paparazzi! I love the "Junkie" but to be a camera woman chasing the rich and famous would be cool too! I could surely make some scrapbook then! (If only I scrapbooked!) Then the next night we played the lottery for front row tickets to see "Wicked," and I won! Last time I came to visit, I won and this time too! Syd & Gavin were able to sit on the front row this time! What an experence! Right now we are on our way to Rodeo Dr., and to Santa Monica. Then tonight we will go and cook gumbo for Dan and her roommates. One is from Chicago and the other is from Ohio. I wonder what they will think of some good 'ole cajun gumbo? I've so wanted to post pictures but never wanted to stop that long. Will soon though..
Yall, have a great Sunday!

But I do have to come home, because of my precious one, Fiona.. my dog.. my mom is babysitting her. Thanks Ma... and thanks to the Junkie girls for covering for me!
When you stop by and visit the store, you will see that the paper racks are changing daily! You gotta go see! Have a good week, and weekend yall.... Your Junk dealer....

A New & Exciting Day!

Do you like the time change? I don't. It takes me a while to get use to it. I like it to get dark early, because it seems to me that the kids are in bed early, or maybe they are just settled down. Mike & I usually get to bed between 10:00 or 10:30 but this change makes it even later. My Hollywood gossip show begins @ 10:00, so this will put a cramp in my routine! I always think of my friend Angie, because it is her favorite time of the year.

The countdown is on again... Just 1 more wake-up and we will be on our way to Hollywood! The kids are thrilled to go visit their big sister and to see her apartment & to meet all of her friends. We will go to Sunset Blvd. & Rodeo Dr. just in case there is a star sighting! I'm a celebrity Junkie too!

Anyways, back to business...
When I went to CHA in Feb., I cruised by the "Glitz Girls" booth and placed a hefty order. I gave them my name and told them I was from Houston and they told me that they were coming to Houston to teach @ "By Design," and that they would LOVE to come and teach at our store also. I didn't even have to ask, they offered, and I felt honored, plus I would love to host them! We will hold 2 classes on Friday, April 25th. There will be one called the "Glitz Acrylic Album" which is described as SUPER cute! They are going to be giving a bunch of goodies away! Then the other is the "3- Glitzy 12x12 layouts" full of glitz and glamour! This class is described as AMAZING! It's loaded with Glitz goodies as well! I tell you what, there will be lots of "sparkling" going on around Houston! The 3-Layouts class will be @ 4:30p.m. on Fri. and the Acrylic Album class will be @ 7:30p.m. Each class is $49.00, and you can begin signing up NOW! These girls are the sweetest. You will love them and the additions to their product line. Yeah!!!

I want to say congrats to Mrs. Hattie Saulsberry for winning our drawing for the "Houston Area Shop Hop!" Hattie won a $50.00 gift certificate! You go girl!
I also asked you blog readers to send me a comment about the Shop Hop. We drew a name today and the winner is: Melody!!? .. so Melody, call me! Congrats to you too... You are all so awesome! Keep an eye on the website calendar, because there will be some pics of the kids spring break classes soon.. We would enjoy paper crafting with your kiddos. It'll be lots of fun! When I get back from LA, I will get pics on the calendar for the "Acrylic" class that is scheduled for the end of the month. Come by and say hello to Robin & Kelli. They are wonderful! "Thank you, Oh God, for our Junkie team!" I hope to visit with you soon.
Happy Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs and all the rest of the week....
Beth

Incredible!

OK, guess what??? 2 of the lines of the new LOVE, ELSIE products are already here! They are "Claire & Cody!" The best ever! It just gets better and better all the time. Also the new Laser cuts from KI Memories are here! Another WOW! Yall gotta come see... (I know that "and" belongs in that last sentence, but if you know me, that's just how I talk.) My daughter always tells me that it's not proper English. Other people tell me to just be myself on my blog. So, this is it!
We recieved some new Tattered Angels glimmer mist. We have new colors and also the most popular colors of gold & silver. We also have the limited edition of "Sandy Beach" which is only available until 8-31-08. I can't wait until their chipboards come in. ALSO, the new collection of The Paper Company. We just put it out this morning and we have customers already buying it. It has some Easter, Graduation and Wedding stuff. That makes me know that you are happy with what I ordered from them!
Our product challenge starts tomorrow and goes through the next Saturday. If you are interested, call or email us today and you will have a kit ready to pick up tomorrow. Come on, give it a shot!
Just a few more days and we are going to see my girl in California. The excitement is brewing up at our house. It's hard to contain. You'll probably see pics of us at the hot spots!
I hope you have a happy Friday and Sat., Sun., Mon., etc!

What's Coming..

We worked so late last night getting products in the computer. New stuff is beginnning to hit hard from CHA. Great, great stuff. The new Karen Foster is precious. The Big Bites are here! That's been a long awaited cool tool. The Bazzill flowers & borders. WOW! Some of Glitz Designs, DCWV, Making Memories & awesome new EK Success, just to name a few. It's looking alot like spring and Easter at the store. I was off today and cannot wait to get to the store tomorrow just to see what came in while I was away.

OK....
We have a bunch of special things that will be happening at the Junkie.
*Our 2nd challenge, (starting March 8th-16th.) I will be putting together some of Elsie & KI's products in a kit, and I want to see what you can do with it! It's amazing to see the different ways that yall use your creativity. You must call the store to sign up for the challenge by Friday. And we must have at least 6 people to play. All you have to do is make a 12x12 layout using these items. The staff of the store will choose the winner and your layout will be displayed in the front window of the store. You will also recieve a $25.00 gift certificate! How can you go wrong just trying?
*We are making plans for our "National Scrapbook WEEKEND!"
*We are also making plans for "SJA" (Scrapbook Junkie Alternative) which is the same weekend as CKU. This is also a weekend event. We had a great time @ "SJA" the last time that CKU came to town... Details coming soon.
*Keep an eye on the calendar as classes will be added to what's already happening in the store for March. (Yep,Kids Crafts for Spring Break.) So many of you have asked for an Acrylic class, so on March 30th, we will do just that. With a bunch of fresh new products, doesn't it make you want to play with paper and scissors?

So what did you think of the "Houston Area Round Up?" Send me your comments and we will have a drawing for another gift certificate on Saturday, March 8th. Gift certificates are great because YOU can get what YOU want!

We sooooo appreciate you!

Shop Hop Continues... 1 more day!

So, are you burnt out yet? You all have AMAZED me, and I'm sure the other local scrapbook stores in Houston would say the same! You all had us rockin'! We had a wonderful crop last night. It's so awesome to hear laughter and to see paper flying! Seriously! "JUST SCRAP!" The store seems to look a little bare with the "Shop Hop," but yall, new Junk is beginning to come in and I don't think it will look bare for long. Now, this will crack you up... my husband keeps an eye on the books, and last night he told me that he was so proud of the inventory level. Ha! I told him to hold on, because it wasn't gonna last long! I must feed your addiction, right?
Well, I know this is a short post, but I'm so sleepy, and my eyes are burning. {The burning may be due to my contacts being in too long. Again..} But anyways, have a happy Sunday...
