Beauty...

Hey yall,
We’ve had a few changes on our calendar as some of you have noticed due to Mr. IKE. There will be no weekend crop. We’ve changed this to a Friday night “BREAST CANCER AWARENESS” crop. The cost is $15.00, which includes sodas, chocolate, refreshments and a few little goodies at your seat. Not part of, but ALL proceeds go towards the cause. The foundation we are supporting through our joint contributions is the Image Reborn Foundation. The mission of this foundation is to provide no-cost healing retreats to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The web site for this great foundation is: www.imagerebornfoundation.org.
Now for Saturday, we have 3- Mini Class Take-n-Makes. Each one has it’s separate prices and again ALL of the proceeds will make up a joint contribution from you and the Junkie (as we are donating all supplies for these Mini Classes). Anyone of these would make a great gift for a loved one or a wonderful keepsake for yourself. All you need to do is come by with your camera, snap a picture, and bring your Cash for the Cause!

“Beautiful Bird” - $5.00

“Beautiful Accordian Tin” - $10.00

“All Natural Pocket Calendar” - $3.00

We will be raffling off a “Beautiful” basket too! It retails for a bit over $100.00!
If you purchase one of the Glitz Crown Roller Doodles we will also give all the proceeds to the foundation. See how much fun this is!
As I get older this is a cause that my heart grieves for. With this being the first year that we have done something like this, I am really excited about it!

A new week...

How nice to blog from the house! WOW! Power!

You know, all things come out for the good in our lives. We had a great sermon at church today talking about all this.. It was incredible.. I wanted to share with you a few different versions of the scripture that we focused on.
From Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

"For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you," says the Lord, "thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. "

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

We just got power here at the house like 1 hour ago, Sunday night, and I was thrilled, but could have gone longer, but geez, the traffic lights were about to drive me crazy! Stop, start, stop, start... so many things to learn from this experience. Right? One of my worker bees, Milissa, lost the roof of her house, completely. Yall, please keep her and her family in your prayers.

On another note, it's so good to be back at the store. We have checked in new Basic Grey, new My Mind's Eye, Cloud 9 and a bunch more. Hope to see you soon!

One more thing... please also keep our friends @ Novel Approach in your prayers. They are precious ladies. Pray that they recover quick from Ike and back in business soon!

Praise God ...

I hope you are all well after the storm. It's so different when you know things like this are happening in your city. It hurts, doesn't it? I met neighbors that I hadn't met before and cooked outside with them, introduced "Fiona" to the other dogs, and best of all~my kids played together the whole time! They rode bikes, 'outside', which they never do. They had play dough contest, they watched movies, they pushed each other in the wheel barrel, slept in the living room, and even got along. We had great family time. I think we all learned a few things from IKE.
We haven't had electricity at the store or at home (like so many of you). But yall, I can live easily at home with none, but oh I so desperately wanted the lights at the store to come on. I would have to keep telling myself, but it's yours Oh God, not mine. But with all that said, today I had spent the store unpacking UPS & FEDEX boxes just waiting, went home and then @ 7pm my husband called me and said "We have power at the store!" I jumped right back into my car and we are steadily getting things up and running and opening again tomorrow. Still plywood in the window but who cares about that?? Some of you remember not once but twice when I was out of electricity and we were still open :)
Slowly but surely, things are returning to normal. When you are out and about, stop by and share your story about the storm. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Hurricane Update...

Hello Junkies,
This is Danielle. My mom can't post on the blog for a while because she has no electricity and cannot get onto the internet. I know that many of you guys have the same problem. But, for those of you who don't and can get on the internet, I have a pretty upsetting update for you. Unfortunately, the store did not weather the storm well. The store will be closed for repair until further notice. I will be updating the blog as often as I can get in touch with my mom. Because of the phone issues in Houston, our conversations are few and far between. Also, as of now, the Vicki Boutin classes are cancelled. I don't think my mom will be able to get the store up and running again by then. I will post and let you all know if she does somehow get up and running again soon, and the classes can resume. But as for now, please just keep the store in your prayers. Thank the Lord my family is all safe. I hope you all are also safe and well.
Danielle
